About Mad4Pets

We are mad about pets, and about helping you care for them well.

Mad4Pets is an independent pet-care magazine for everyday pet parents. We turn trusted veterinary and animal-welfare guidance into clear, friendly, practical advice for dogs, cats, birds, fish, small pets, reptiles and horses, so you can make confident decisions for the animals you love.

Our story

Born from a simple question: "Is this normal for my pet?"

Every pet parent has asked it. Why is my cat peeing outside the litter box? How much should my puppy eat? Is my budgie's diet actually healthy? Too often, the answers online are confusing, contradictory, or written to sell something.

Mad4Pets was created to be the calm, trustworthy friend you can turn to instead. We started with a clear idea: bring together practical, welfare-first pet care for every kind of companion animal, explained in plain language and presented beautifully, so good information is a pleasure to read.

Today we cover everything from first-week kitten checklists and aquarium cycling to horse care routines and reptile habitats, and we keep growing with new guides every week.

What we stand for

Our values

❀️

Welfare first

Every recommendation starts with what is best for the animal: their health, comfort, safety and natural needs.

πŸ”¬

Evidence over hype

We rely on established veterinary guidance and research, and we are clear about where evidence is limited.

🀝

Kindness without judgment

Every pet parent is learning. We explain, encourage and support, and never shame.

🦜

Every pet matters

Rabbits, geckos, goldfish and horses deserve great care too, so we cover them with the same depth as cats and dogs.

πŸ”Ž

Honesty and transparency

We tell you when to see a vet, disclose any partnerships, and correct errors openly.

🧭

Practical and useful

Checklists, tables, calculators and step-by-step guides you can act on today.

Every guide is researched, written and reviewed with care

How we work

How we create our content

  1. Research. We start with guidance from veterinary associations, veterinary schools, animal-welfare organizations and peer-reviewed studies.
  2. Write for real life. We turn that research into clear, practical steps, with tables, checklists and examples that fit everyday homes.
  3. Review and fact-check. Articles are checked for accuracy, safety and clarity before publishing. Health topics always point readers to a veterinarian.
  4. Keep it current. We revisit and update guides as advice changes and as readers send feedback.

Pet parents are at the heart of everything we do

Who we are

The Mad4Pets team

We are a small, independent team of writers, editors and lifelong animal lovers. Between us we have raised puppies and kittens, kept aquariums and small pets, and learned (sometimes the hard way) how much good information matters.

We are not a substitute for your veterinarian, and we never pretend to be. Our job is to help you understand your pet, ask better questions and act with confidence. When a veterinary professional reviews an article, their name appears clearly in the byline.

Interested in writing for us or partnering with Mad4Pets? We would love to hear from you.
