Welcome to Mad4Pets. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) set out the rules for using our website, including our articles, guides, interactive tools, newsletter and contact form (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By accessing or using Mad4Pets, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

01 About these terms

These Terms form an agreement between you and the operator of Mad4Pets (“we”, “us”, “our”). They should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Editorial Guidelines, which explain how we handle your information and create our content.

02 Using Mad4Pets

• You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms and applicable law.
• You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to submit information through our forms.
• We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we are not obliged to keep any content available.

03 Not veterinary advice

All content on Mad4Pets is provided for general information and education only. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not create a veterinarian-client relationship.

• Always seek the advice of a qualified veterinarian about your pet’s health, diet, medication or behavior.
• Never ignore professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on Mad4Pets.
• If you think your pet has a medical emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal clinic immediately.

04 Interactive tools

Our pet age calculator, food calculator, name generator, pet-match quiz and other tools provide general estimates and suggestions based on common formulas and guidelines. Results may not suit every animal, since needs vary with breed, age, health, activity and environment. Use them as a starting point for conversations with your veterinarian, not as instructions.

05 Our content and intellectual property

The Mad4Pets name, logo, design, text, graphics, tools and other original materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Photographs may be licensed from third parties such as Pexels and remain subject to their licenses.

You may:

• View, read and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use
• Share links to our pages, and quote short extracts with a clear credit and link to the original article

You may not, without our written permission:

• Copy, republish, sell or distribute our articles or substantial parts of them
• Use our content to create competing products or services
• Remove copyright or other notices from our materials
• Systematically scrape, harvest or download our content, including for training AI models

06 Your submissions

When you send us messages, pet stories, photos, topic suggestions, corrections or guest post pitches (“Submissions”):

• You confirm that you own the Submission or have permission to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
• You allow us to use your Submission to respond to you and to improve our content. Topic ideas and corrections may be used freely without payment or credit.
• We will always ask for your permission before publishing your pet story, photos, name or any other personal details on the site.
• We are not obliged to use, publish or reply to any Submission.

07 Acceptable use

When using Mad4Pets, you agree not to:

• Break any law or encourage anyone else to do so
• Send spam, abusive, threatening, defamatory, obscene or misleading content
• Promote animal cruelty or any activity that could harm animals or people
• Attempt to hack, overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems
• Use bots or automated tools to submit forms or collect data
• Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with them

We may block access or remove content if we believe these Terms have been broken.

08 Links, advertising and affiliates

Mad4Pets may link to other websites, and in the future may display advertising or include affiliate links that earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. We will clearly disclose affiliate relationships. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, products or services, and linking to them does not mean we endorse them. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.

09 Disclaimer of warranties

We work hard to keep our content accurate and up to date, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no guarantees that the content is complete, accurate, current or suitable for your particular situation, or that the site will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors or viruses.

10 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage, or for any loss or harm to you or your animals, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its content. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your Submissions or your misuse of the Service.

12 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use Mad4Pets after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.

13 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Mad4Pets is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a country with consumer protection laws that give you additional rights, nothing in these Terms affects those rights. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
